From Treehugger:

“The sci-fi action and adventure video game Escape from Diab should help prevent kids from becoming obese and developing diabetes and other related illnesses.
In the game, the player fights along Deejab and Delinda against evil King Etes to turn the city of Diab back into the Golden City. The King has gotten rid of any exercise opportunity in the city and instead is feeding the population unlimited amounts of free junk food. The only way to win the fight is by making healthy lifestyle choices, such as eating right and exercising, in order to defeat King Etes and his guards.
Escape from Diab was developed by Archimage in Texas, in collaboration with the Children’s Nutrition Research Center of Houston’s Baylor College of Medicine. The video game, due to be release next year, can be played on the web, PCs, handhelds and Nintendo’s Gamecube. Escape from Diab had been nominated for the INDEX: Award as well as the 2007 Webby Award. To get a feeling of the game and meet the characters, watch the trailer.

This may not be that fun for some of you, but this online illustrated dictionary is very cool to me. Often times it just takes a few graphics (or one) to break up a bunch of text, and that makes it easier to digest. Here’s the new Merriam Webster Visual Dictionary.

Today is America’s Recycling Day. You didn’t know that, did you? Do you care? If you don’t care, we can’t be friends and well, you are most likely a PIG. Your piggy-ness aside, try to learn something every day, WILL you? Don’t be an ignoramus. This game could teach you something very useful and very good for the planet. That means doing something good for you, your friends, your family for generations to come. You really should care about it.
If you don’t care, you need to be slapped with a very, very, very large trout.

It lets you download your friends’ playlists, lets you add a now playing box to your blog, downloads cover art and helps manage your music.
Hook Up With Friends: See your friends’ tracks, playlists and what they’re currently playing. Your dynamic music profile lets you compare collections so you can see just how compatible you are. With BOINK you can add a now playing box to your blog or mySpace that changes with every track you play.
Find Playlists You Can Play: BOINK lets you download your friends’ playlists. It automatically tells you the tracks you can play based on what’s in your collection. Create new playlists and swap with your friends.
Enjoy Your Music: BOINK adds the missing cover art to your ripped tracks automatically as you listen. Hot-keys give you better control, and a pop-up window tells you what you are playing. You can view discography, look up lyrics and find new music based on what you like. Don’t like the track you’re playing - one click fast-forwards and un-checks the track so you won’t hear it again.

Download events and exciting happenings in more than 300 cities worldwide to your beloved iPod. This comes in particularly handy when you go to places like Berlin, Los Angeles or other large city, where you have little info on what’s going on. There are current events so download the files as late as possible before you leave for that city. You can also download movies and movie times, which is a very cool feature. It’s free but you have to register to be able to use the site.
Note: This doesn’t work with 1st and 2nd generation iPods. Your iPod needs to have the “Notes” mode in order to access all this info. And there are no maps except for the extra features that are available for mobile phones and pda’s.

From cavemonkey50:
If you run a blog from your own website, most likely you’re using WordPress. While WordPress is great by itself, the majority of WordPress’ usefulness comes from its plugins. Some of the best and most creative features come from plugins, and because plugins are so easy to create and install, there are literally hundreds of WordPress plugins.
If you’re new to WordPress, finding the perfect plugin is often a difficult task. Sometimes there are eight plugins that do the same thing, which makes it difficult to find the plugin which works the best. Or, you just simply don’t know that a plugin exists. That’s why I’m here to help.
I’ve been a WordPress user since the 1.0 days. During that time, I’ve seen my share of WordPress plugins. Some have failed, while others have evolved into essential features. From my experience, I hope that when you’re done reading this list, you’ll have some plugins that will not only make your life as blogger easier, but that your visitors will find your site more useful.
